My experience in different genres with large and small crews can help your project.

I've been a broadcaster since 1982, starting on radio then joining television. My first productions were in current affairs, working with on-screen reporters against tight deadlines. In those days we shot and cut on tape with just one pass in the edit - start at the beginning and finish at the end. You learn how to deal with stress and focus on structure. In 1992 I was in China and started a long passion for documentary making. I'm the kind who gets dumped in arrivals with minimal kit. Not the sort who travels with a minibus of crew and a Hilton loyalty card. But then ten years after that I had a spell making comedy dramas. And after that a run of screen biographies interviewing celebrities. Recently I've been embedded with an air ambulance service; made a show about the legendary Ronnie Corbett and spent four months filming in the Falklands. I love my job. You just never know what adventure the next phone call will bring.
